In her 2009 show, \u003ci\u003eRoaring Tigers, Leaping Carp: Decoding the Symbolic Language of Chinese Animal Painting\u003c\/i\u003e, Dr. Sung drew on ten years of research to present more than 100 paintings that illustrated the use of animal symbolism in Chinese art. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eDr Keiko Nakamachi is Professor of Art History at Jissen Women's University, specializing in Japanese art including Edo painting, crafts and prints and her work on the Rinpa school.
